Palace in Sliwniki

Neo-Gothic chateau-castle was built between 1848-1850, probably designed by Charles Wurtemberg Niemojowski for Jana Nepomucego Niemojowskiego. Developed in 1898 for Wincentego Niemojowskiego. It has an irregular lump of 2-3 storeys, with four corner towers. The palace is surrounded by well maintained landscaped park with an area of 10.5 ha. In 1887 it was surrounded by some hedge of hawthorn, wild rose and lilac. Devastated after the war turned into a ruin. Once richly furnished interiors are empty today. According to the legend hidden in the basement of the palace is the weapon that supposed to be shifted to the former Polish Kingdom. These mysteries were never discovered by the authorities of Prussia. Even today we do not know the whole truth on this subject, an extensive network of cellars was buried The palace was visited by such personalities as Lipscy, Skórzewscy, Jan Pruski, Teofil Morawski coat of arms Korab, and Antoni Wit Górzeński ora Antoni Szczaniecki. Jan Nepomuk Niemojowski died in 1873 and was buried with his wife at the church cemetery in the neighboring Skalmierzycach. On his tombstone are the family arms. Among the most common tree ash, hornbeam, chestnut and linden. Many trees have a monumental qualities. Currently protected ruins of the palace is privately owned and is waiting for repairs. The team also includes farm buildings from the nineteenth century, including a five storey granary of the cubic block dating from 1849
